The most dangerous species on Bangalore roads, are Cabs(with yellow stickers). They are least disciplined as far as traffic rules are concerned. One thing is pretty clear, as soon as they get their Driving Licence, they start driving flouting all traffic rules and endangering the safety of other drivers on the road. They park their cabs anywhere and everywhere, even in the middle of the road, causing inconvenience to other vehicles. They don't stop or slow down their vehicle to allow other vehicles such 4-wheelers or 2-wheelers to pass or negotiate. They observe their own laws on the road. Two wheeler drivers have to be extra cautious if they notice a cab with yellow sticker either in the front or rear. Then the 2nd most most chaotic people on the road are Auto Rikshaw Drivers. You may find their Autos parked every where and when you are about to reach them they will take a turn without giving any indication making you off balanced. They are also not bothered about traffic rules except traffic signal. To improve traffic awareness among drivers, some serious effort has to be made by the Bangalore Traffic. Suggest making it mandatory for all drivers to attend a traffic seminar once in a year.

I remember the auto rickshaws from my days in Bangalore. Funny, their driving pattern seems time locked!
Just a thought. The safety driving courses here in the U.S. always have police videos that show the gruesome nature of auto accidents. Smashed up vehicles, body parts and all...I think that the reaction to the accident and its aftermath is so visceral that it is bound to keep drivers obeying the laws for a little while...

It is true that such gruesome pictures may make the drivers cautious for a while but then we human beings have a tendency to forget the past very fast. Periodic reminders by way of safety posters at prominent locations/parking areas and other stringent measures by Traffic Police are very much necessary to reduce accidents. It is quite alarming with each passing day, the number of vehicles on the road are on the rise. Creating traffic awareness among public is the only solution. It is very common these days that 4-wheeler as well as 2-wheeler drivers use mobile phones while driving. In Bangalore, I am yet to come across traffic police penalising or atleast warning such people.

Appreciate for revealing such precious information as it will be of great use for me. Bangalore is one of the fast growing cities in india and population growth has been dramatic. Water crisis in the City is one of the pressing challenges that Bangalore is facing which is getting worse.
