Bengaluru Commuter Rail / Call for Action : Long pending demand for Bangalore urban Transport in the form Local Trains ( Commuter Rail ) is still distant dream. Group of people from Praja with helpof CiSTUP / IISc have come out with report for action on Commuter rail. Here is the link to the report : http://praja.in/en/nammarailu http://praja.in/en/projects/3110/announcement/namma-railu-call-action-report-authored-prajain-members Also RTI response obtained from South Western Railways on the track utilization on peak hours and status on doubling of track arround Bangalore. Its high time Citizens of Bengaluru put pressure on the Officials of Railways and Karntaka state to take this Local Trains project forward. We need to ask our elected representative when all major cities in India have the full fledge service of the Local Trains on existing tracks, why is it Bngalurur is still struggling on this and other end Traffic is getting worse day by day. Even NAMMA METRO will cover only small portion of the city compared to Local Trains.
