I use this road almost daily and was shocked to see a couple of weeks ago, that many trees have been cut on this road! It used to be a pleasant walk or drive on this road even under hot and sunny conditions. All of a sudden i found that there was no shade and what was missing were the trees! I think that there is no need to cut these trees and that we cant call it development. These are invaluable trees which have been there for many decades...planting saplings will not work because who is going to take care of the saplings? What is the survival rate of the saplings? Dont the residents of this area have a right to decide on the fate of their neighbourhood? I think we should campaign against this mindless tree cutting and have a door to door campaign on the lines of the residents of Jayamahal road who did that a couple of weeks ago. Promises of sapling planting and translocation are all an excuse to cut the trees first and then forget about it. Can we start a campaign against this tree cutting activity?

Oh! This is real bad news. I used these road during my school days. I always enjoy traveling in green cave kind of environment created by the big trees in this road. Even the google map satellite view show so much green along this road.
Cutting Trees is Madness!
