There is a discount if property taxes are paid before I think April 30th each year. However for payment of property tax apparently a Katha is required. There is no logic to this unless there are some middlemen who follow corrupt ways and put hurdles and thus deprive the government of timely receipts of tax payments and deprive the owners of the discount however small it is and increase the workload. Therefore will BBMP help in cutting down on corruption by accepting alternate data to accept taxes on a self assessment basis without the need for a katha? I have heard stories that BBMP has created special facilities in such cases. I am presntly away from Banglore and hence can BBMP help please in the name of Anna Hazare atleast. Have other readers any views on this subject please? God Bless

You can give the Revenue Number or Property Identification Number if khata no is not given. One of these numbers should have been given in your last year's receipt.
I have observed that BBMP staff are very courteous this year and they are very helpful. Please do not go to any middle man. Approach the Revenue officer in the BBMP office of your area and he will help you.

I have paid tax for 2010, there is entry in bank passbook.
on-line system says I am in arrears, how could this happen when BBMp has encashed my cheque on 29 apr 2010.

BBMP has not updated the khata details either for on-line or Off-line.I cannot understand as to why the Name of the Kthadar is not updated even years after a property has been sold and the khatha was also transfered to the (new) buyer. Why can not there be a
single window to effect the transfer of Khata and entry of the new khathadar in the computer system?. Every year since 2008, I am representing this problem to the Dy.Commissioner(Revenue), BBMP but no action is being taken. How long does it take to change the name of the Khatadar, once the Khatha is transfered?. Why should I continue to pay in the name of the old Khathadar, even after transfer of the khatha? I want to join as a volunnteer of any organisation working towards such goles.

BBMP's online payment of property tax is certainly a boon for tax payers who can avail that facility. To encourage this method and reward the users for reducing their administrative overheads and the instant credits this method provides, BBMP should give additional rebate for online users. How does one go about suggesting/proposing this to BBMP?

I have a factory shed in bangalore owned by a partnership firm in which myself and my 2 sisters are partners. We are however running operations of another business we own in this shed. basically the owners of the 2 companies are the same and hence there is no lease or rent involved. I wish to know whether property tax needs to be paid at the self occupied rate itself. I understand that rate of tax is double in case property is leased
