Friends, I bought a plot during March this year. The seller had a total of 2 Acres. I bought one plot (1500 Sq Ft). The property is in Basanvanpura Village (K R Puram). It is DC converted and there was BBMP Khata for the whole land in the sellers name. Now, when I visited the BBMP office for paying the tax for 2011-12, I was told that I cannot pay as the seller has paid Tax for the whole property for last year. They cannot change the name and dimensions in the computer. Also, they added either I do not pay or pay for the whole 2 Acres. Any one else facing such a issue. Is this true that I cannot pay the tax for my portion of land. Will I be fined later on for this? Thanks in advance. Any inputs will be of help in this matter. Neeraj Bangalore
