Hi everyone, An article in The Hindu published early this month talks about BMRCL's plans to construct a mega convention centre in Byappanahalli (http://www.thehindu.com/business/article2508357.ece) . I'm not sure a convention centre is the best use of that area. A public park or playground would better. It was a playground before that area was taken up if anyone remembers. I wonder what's the compulsion to build a convention centre there, other than its proximity to the metro. Also BMRCL's board members all seem to be from the government. Why not make better use of that area and add some greenery? Old madras road has no public recreational parks or gardens at all. cheers, sumukh

In fact, if they really want to develop it they could make it a park+sports complex. The sports complex part could probably be rented out to as a convention centre whenever there's an event. Much better use of space!
