Many BMTC buses are running with one man management i.e driver cu driver. The regular users of such buses are reluctant to board such buses as they know the time delay in reaching their places because driver is doing dual role thereby defraying more time to commute. This results in loss of revenue to Dept. Secondly the "one man" is not mentally able to concentrate on driving alone as he is pulled by additional responsibilities of collecting the fare,issuing tickets and also returning balances amount etc etc. Considering the points stated above what worth is to continue such services with one man to perform two roles.

I have observed the driver having the bunch of tickets in his hand while driving . This is a dangerous trend as hisattention is not fully on the traffic or public crossing the road in front . The passengers have to wait for a long time in each stop for passengers to alight and get in and take tickets at the narrow entrance of the bus .
It is time BMTC adds one Conductor and provide another door at the center of the bus for better efficiency of the service.

Called up the PRO (BMTC) Dr G G Hegde in this regard. He said, "We have taken a decision to remove this. It has invited a lot of problems now. But I don't think we should concentrate on this now since an internal decision has been taken to change this. Once the recruitment process is over, it will change".
It would be good to find out how many such buses are there and when exactly the recruitment will get over.

hi, well i have a different opinion to this situation. I was very astonished when such a servise was started as the similar thing happens in Dubai and many other countries. The driver himself takes the role of a conductor. The advantages of these are that the number of people employed by the bus company is less and then that reduces the cost of the company, thereby reducing the running cost of the service which has a direct implication on the bus fares. Although, the services there in dubai is such that to make the issuing of the ticked faster they have installed ticked dispensers on which all the driver has to do is puch in the destination code as the meter would have already calculated the place of embarkment. i initially hoped that soon such a system would be in place here in bangalore too, considering the rapid internationalization of b'lore's public transport, which however does not appear to be happening. So instead of enforcing the bodies to install a regularly paid conductor, compell them to install a ticked dispenser in which all the driver has to do is to enter the destination code of the passesner and the the machine in itself calculates the fare and the driver simply collects the cash and offer the dispensed cash with change. This will save enough time and also bare a redused cost of travelling.

Many of the pushpak services are actually being converted-some became pass buses but on their failure have been re-modelled to run as ordinary with the blue-white colour and 2 doors. Some of them are running as the cheaper "Atal Sarige" version. BMTC has retained the routes mainly for the casual contract services so that they do not have to pay the conductor on those trip who doesnt have much of work when bus runs on these schedules-Introducing a different bus for schedule not minding coductors can only do a 100% eradication.

Of late many routes, trips of buses are being withdrawn from Srividyanagara bus terminus which is not justified since a bus terminus is being constructed at a cost of 4 crores. A terminus in Hosakerehalli without proper roadspace is unjustified, moreover all buses ake U-turn on ring road leading traffic problems during peak hour traffic. Can we expect some responsible official of BMTC will look into this issue.

BMTC requests to use BMTC buses instead of own transportation. But the saddest part is that there is no connectivity from and to different points in Bangalore. From the nearest points of aliting bus stop one has to travel a few kilometres to destination for which one has to depend on autos or some other mode of personalised transportation. Thats why BMTC cannot be relied upon and people have to commute by autos or scooters or cars in Bangalore.
