Shopping complexes near Total Kempfort and Marathahalli attracts large number of people during weekends. Pedestrians struggle to cross the road and jumps into the road. The Pedestrian crossing signal (now with some alarm sound) is very short and hardly respected. I would kindly request the authorities to provide a flyover near Total Kempfort and at Marathahalli just like the one provided near Kodihalli to help pedestrian cross the road safely and enable smooth traffic.

Recently the two medians at Marathahalli ring road near Kalamandir were closed and vehicles are asked to take U turn near ISRO junction. This is a very good thought of Bangalore traffic police since it is avoiding lot of traffic congestion at this area.
But since the road is very is wide, vehicles tend to over speed from Multiplex to Malgudi hotel junction because of which pedestrians are facing very difficult to cross the road and catch the bus at BMTC bus stops in both the sides of road.
Every minute one can hear sound of sudden speed brakes being applied by speedy cabs and bikes to avoid collision with pedestrians at Marathahalli Kalamandir junction.
I would kindly request the traffic police to provide speed breaker and Visible Zebra Crossing at this junction which would slow down the traffic and enable the pedestrians to cross the road safely.
Posting this article to please consider that Pedestrians too use the road and not only vehicles when any improvements are done.

Marathalli is a horror for pedestrians. And the way the shops have come up in the area, I'm not sure how the problem can be solved :( There's hardly any space left for pedestrian infrastructure.

I pass through Total Kempfort every day in my car. Having lived and driven in the US for some time has taught me to respect and give right of way to pedestrians. I try to follow that by slowing down and stopping completely if I see a bunch of pedestrians.
But, I always fear about other vehicles speeding on the roads will cash into my car from behind or hit the pedestrians who start crossing the road after I stop and block one of the two lanes.
Waiting for the day when pedestrians can re-claim their rightful place and facilities on the roads.
