Struggle for getting Local Trains for Bangalore city is going on for last two decades as all of are aware. Even Minister for State Railways Shri K H Muniyappa has announced 1st week of Jan'2010 that by end of March'10, local train between Yesvanthpur to Anekal and Bangalore city to Devanhalli will be started. Till this day, their is no news on this and we understand that request for approval from railway board is not sent by South Western Railway officals. All of us are struggling to get the local trains for Bangalore. But when it come to Bihar, West Bengal, DEMU / EMEU local train servicces have been announced in the budget itself & Railway is providing the rackes on its own, but when it comes to Karnataka / Bangalore, Railway is asking to procurre the rakes from state and now railway auhtorities are saying this is not included in the budget & proposal yet to go to railway board. Are the SWR officers are sleeping till now ( last three months ) http://www.expressbuzz.com/edition/story.aspx?Title=Wait+a+little+longer+for+Bangalores+local+train&artid=ggiVMJ1lVpI=&SectionID=Qz/kHVp9tEs=&MainSectionID=wIcBMLGbUJI=&SectionName=UOaHCPTTmuP3XGzZRCAUTQ==&SEO With Bangalore City has almost double Track with msot of it Electrified over last few years. Now We have 32 Railway stations arround Bangalore city & Suburbs. With BBMP area expanded, now need of Local Trains is very much felt and Local Train system should have been in place by now. This would have reduced lot of traffic problems and Travell time also. Now as Citizens, we all of us should raise our voise where ever possible and put the pressure on the following people South Western Railway authority, Railway Misniter, our elected MP's & MLA's to start the Local Trains soon.

Nod for circular railway track
With a view to decongesting busy areas of Bangalore and to help commuters on the outskirts, the Railway Ministry is taking up the circular railway linking Ramanagaram, Magadi, Doddaballapura, Krishnaraja Puram, Hoskote, Anekal and Yeshwanthpur.
Union Minister of State for Railways K.H. Muniyappa said that the State Government had already given its nod for linking outer towns, easing traffic and congestion. He said Chief Minister B.S. Yeddyurappa had promised Rs. 500 crore for the project.
http://www.thehindu.com/2010/03/25/s...2557720600.htm
But their is no effort by South western railway to develop tracks arround Bangalore by electrifiying and further doubling. Also Suburban stations are in real bad shapes & now railway will ask money from state to develop these stations also.
In simple way, MoS K H Muniyappa should start the local Trains which he had promised during flagging of Durrunto Train in Jan'2010. Also the Track capacity utilization is only 50% on Anekal segment. If you look at the Yelahanaka to Chikballapur segment of 60 Kms, only two DEMU services are running in this streatch. Also Chikballapur ot Kolar track work is going on with 100 Crore projct.
Yesvanthpur to Nelamanagala stretch is not started,
So in over all the Track capacity exists expcept in small stretches in the city area. Also after 8:30 in the morning, tracks are complet free in the city area also.
So finally its MoS Shri K H Muniyappa has full powers to start the local Trains for Bangalore if he has heart for Bangalore citizens.

Now Local Train serivces demand has ben used by polatical parties in BBMP election menifesto. What ever may be the reason, as Citizens of Bangalore city deserve the Local Train Services similar to Mumbai, Hyderabad, Chennai. These Local Train services with NAMM METRO & BMTC services, Traffic problems of Bangalore city will come down drastically and pollution level will also come down.
We citizens of Bangalore should voice where ever possible to get the full fledge services of Local Trains for better Bangalore

Commuters to Electronic City and air passengers will heave a sigh of relief as suburban train services to Hosur and Devanahalli are set to start within a fortnight
The timings and routes for the Yeshwanthpur-Hosur and the Yeshwanthpur-Devanahalli sectors have been finalised, but operations are expected to start after April 6 when the model code of conduct for the just-concluded BBMP polls is no longer applicable.
According to top Railway sources, a passenger train with five coaches, which will run two daily trips from Yeshwanthpur to Hosur, is ready. The timings for the Yeshwanthpur-Devanahalli up-down service will be fixed between the time the train to Hosur departs and arrives Yeshwanthpur.
“Each coach can seat a maximum of 110 passengers. So, over 500 passengers can commute on each trip,” said an official, adding that the number of coaches can be increased depending on demand.
Operations on the two routes were to begin March-end but the launch was delayed because electrification of the track between Yeshwanthpur and Hosur needed completion. The Yeshwanthpur-Devanahalli route is electrified, but only up to Yelahanka. A decision was therefore taken to run diesel-powered engines as are prevalent in Chennai and Mumbai, sources said.

Finally MoS Shri K H Muniyappa is keeping his Promises made. Now these Suburban Train will run from Yesvanthpur to Hosur two trips and to Devanhalli one trip. Hope they will start these trains from Bangalore city later. Along with thiese two services, one more passanger train announced during budget to Nelamanagal should be started so that with these three Trains, now Citizens can start using more Suburban Trains with Bangalore. Even I have observed Hebbal station is getting makeover. Similarly they should improve Lottegolhalli, Kodagehalli stations so that passangers will feel more comfortable in using the Train services.
Also BMTC should start feeder services to these Railway Stations specifially to Devanhalli, CarmelRam & Heelalige station
Hope this will reduce some pressure on the road of Bangalore specifically to electronic city / Hosur road. Now its for the Citizens to use this Train services and reduce usage of Cars.

The politicians of this state are interested in making money only.Pf they honestly try,Karnataka can get any facility we want.It is unfortunate that Minister of State for Railways K.H. Muniyappa is more interested about his home town.He can learn a lot from Mamata Banerji !!!!

speaking about Railways Karnataka has been the most neglected State in India in spite of having half a dozen Railway Ministers from this State in 50 years. when are we going to get a mamata for Bangalore/Karnataka State who can boldly implement Railway projects in this State without any further delay. We have Axle plant, rail coach plant all that in this State but no rail connectivity. Are MPs listening?
