I have purchased a new apartment which is ready for occupation. I would like to know whether I need to pay the property tax for 2010-2011. Any info on this will be appreciated. Suresh Mahadevan

Dear SM,
Can you be more clear about your previous tax payments to enable me to guide you properly in this respect. Also has any occupancy certificate been issued, if so on which date? But certainly you have to pay tax for this year as the building id ready and that you are going to occupy.

I have not paid any tax for the previous year for this apartment since it was under construction. I have not get received my occupancy certificate but my flat is already registered in my name.

Please consult your previous owner of the property for the payment of tax either for the building OR for a vacant land to derive at the property nos. and revert back.

In this case the previous owner will be the builder since he has sold the property to us. So do you mean we need to get the copies of the property tax receipts for 2009-2010 and then based on that pay the tax for 2010-2011

i have registered a property in Oct 2010. the builder is yet to provide the following
1. OC
2. Khata
3. water & electricity connections

since when am i supposed to pay the property taxes in bangalore?
