AIM for Seva is an all India movement spread across 15 states with 129 projects reaching formal education to rural and tribal children. The NGO has 11 years of proven track record of administering student homes, schools and community welfare projects in backward areas. It has helped transform the lives of 10 million rural and tribal people across India. To open a school in every village is a need but not viable. However one student Home closer to an existing school can cater to children from many villages. AIM for seva has 88 such home across the country with 2800 resident students, of whom 22% are girls. Under the guidance and suupervision of a trained caregiver, the children are provided a holistic, life changing intervention with improvements in diet, habits, after school coaching in academics, values and ethics. Further enrichment programmes in culture, arts, yoga and life skills are provided free of cost enabling these children to blossom into confident individuals. This unique student home program has successfully brought down the school drop out rate from a national average of 65% to less than 12% in the NGO areas of operation. Education serves to expand the students minds to the world of opportunities and aspirations. The students are thus equipped to pursue higher studies or enter the vocational stream.
